Whether its walking across the stage and receiving a diploma or walking across the hall from kindergarten to 1st grade, graduations are milestones the whole family should celebrate together. Commemorate this special day with your grad and every shade of his or her school colors! Likely to no surprise, my favorite way to incorporate color is with balloons. I like to make a statement with unique patterns and effects like polka dots, splatter paint, and marbling to really jazz up the occasion. If you like confetti but hate the clean-up, giant confetti filled balloons are a great way to add a pop of fun and color without forever covering your home in glitter.
A Texas-sized Grad Gift
My family and I are Texans tried and true, so for my nephew’s high school graduation I gave him a unique gift to send him off to college. To commemorate his move from his parents’ house to the University of Texas at Austin, we gifted him a Texas Flag that has been flown over the state capital with an official certificate of the date flown. Every college kid seems to love having a Lone Star flag hanging in their dorm room, why not make it special! The ordering process was extremely simple and really made my favorite Longhorn smile. Here’s a link to order: https://flags.house.texas.gov/Home.
In addition to the fabulous flag, I gifted my nephew with gift cards to some of the popular college dining spots around Austin. If you are going the gift card route with your grad, get creative! Fill a piñata in the shape of a graduation cap with his/her favorite candies and gift cards! Trust me, your grad will appreciate access to their favorite foods when they don’t have mom’s cooking readily available.
