Back when I was a mom-to-be, people tended to wait until the baby was born to learn the gender of their little one. But now, with the popularity of gender reveal parties, there are new festive ways to get your friends and family involved in the big announcement. This summer, at Emerson Sloan we’re getting in some special items to amp up a gender reveal event, such as a question mark-shaped piñata that can be filled with blue or pink candies and confetti cannons to make the event even more celebratory and fun!Check best baby shower favor and decorations
I suggest choosing a theme that’s a little more outside of the box than your traditional baby-themed party; some really cute motifs that are easy to find décor for include farm animals, sun & sky, and jungle themes. When it comes to décor for baby showers and gender reveals parties, there so many cute options to put new twists on classics. For example, you can take your pastel color palette up a notch with beautiful floral plates and napkins or touches of metallics, like our platinum, gold, or rose gold balloons. For larger decorations that really add pop, I like going the rental route. I like this for several reasons, first of all, because you likely won’t be using these items very often and secondly because you can get unique décor without the commitment of ownership and storage. We have an adorable stork and hippo that are perfect for anchoring balloons or adding a touch of whimsy to a gift table or catering spread, as well as some new rentable centerpieces including unicorns, mermaids, and meringues in several shades of pastels. It’s nice because when the festivities are over you can simply return the products to the store.
Decorating is always fun but sometimes the real challenge is finding the right gift for the mama-to-be. There seems to be a new baby “must-have” almost every month, with hundreds of reviews contradicting each other online. Instead of guessing, I suggest bringing in a gift you most enjoyed while pregnant or during the early years with your child. If you haven’t had children, gifting can be even more daunting. The most useful and meaningful gifts are personal. Select a favorite item from your childhood, like refurbishing a beloved book and placing a dedication to the newborn inside the front cover. The most important thing is to shower the expecting mom with love and excitement!
